Custom commissioned belt buckle.

The client requested a whimsical and heavy belt buckle that they could wear every day.

I could have fabricated but decided to try my hand at casting. There was a fair amount of porosity in the casting due to my metal probably not being the cleanest. However, I think the porosity actually adds to the piece because of the already textured surface. I wanted to use recycled scrap metal to save on cost and emphasize sustainability. I also wanted better integrity in the design so I decided on an alloy instead of pure silver.

Overall pleased with how it turned out (especially for my first casting ever).
